  14.   get to that, here are a couple of things you'll need to know to speed you on
  15.   your way to creating great resumes.

  33.   This disk contains the Easy Working Resume Creator program itself, plus a
  34.   detailed manual of instructions which you can either view on-screen or print
  35.   out.

  38.   1..................  MAKING A BACKUP COPY OF YOUR PROGRAM DISK
  39.  
  40.  
  41.      Before you begin using the Easy Working Resume Creator you should make
  42.      a backup copy of your program. You'll be using the DOS DISKCOPY
  43.      program to do this. Here's how:
  44.  
  45.      1) Turn your computer on. If you have a floppy drive only system, make
  46.      sure your DOS disk is in drive A>. Make sure you have a blank disk
  47.      handy as well. You'll need it to copy the program onto.
  48.  
  49.      2) When you see the DOS prompt type DISKCOPY A: A: and press <Enter>.
  50.      You'll be instructed to put the source disk (the Resume Creator disk)
  51.      into drive A> and press <Enter>. Do so. In a few moments, a message
  52.      will appear instructing you to place the TARGET disk (a blank disk you
  53.      will be copying onto) in Drive A>. Remove the Resume Creator disk and
  54.      insert the disk you will be copying onto. Now press <Enter>. Follow
  55.      the screen prompts, switching disks as necessary,  until your disk is
  56.      successfully copied.

  62.      IMPORTANT NOTE: If your 3.5 inch disk drive is drive B> type DISKCOPY
  63.      B: B:. If you have two 3.5 inch disk drives you can type DISKCOPY A:
  64.      B: Make sure the Resume Creator, the SOURCE disk, is in drive A: and a
  65.      blank disk, your TARGET disk, is in drive B: Press Enter to start
  66.      diskcopying.

  69.   2..................  INSTALLING THE PROGRAM ON A HARD DRIVE

  72.      1) Turn your computer on.
  73.  
  74.      2) If your system asks for the date and time, enter it.
  75.  
  76.      3) When you see the C> on your screen place the Resume Creator disk in
  77.      your 3.5 inch disk drive and close the door. If you have two 3.5 inch
  78.      disk drives place your Resume Creator disk in drive A:

  80.      4) Change to the 3.5 inch disk drive where you have just placed the
  81.      Resume Creator program disk by typing A: or B: and pressing <Enter>.

  83.      5) Type INSTALL and press <Enter>. The program will be installed in a
  84.      subdirectory called "EASY".

  87.   3..................  STARTING THE PROGRAM

  90.   On Hard Drive System:

  93.      1) Bring the C> onto your screen. You may have to turn the computer
  94.      on, or type C: <Enter>.

  96.      2) Type CD C:\EASY
  97.  
  98.      3) Press <Enter>

  100.      4) Type RES and press <Enter>

  102.      5) The program will start in a few moments.

  105.   On a Floppy Drive System:

  108.      1) Insert the Resume Creator disk into your 3.5 drive. If you have two
  109.      3.5 inch drives insert the disk into the A> drive.
  110.  
  111.      2) Get to the 3.5 inch disk drive by typing A: or B: depending on
  112.      where your disk is located and pressing <Enter>. If you have two 3.5
  113.      inch disk drives you should type A:.

  119.      3) Type RES and press <Enter>

  121.      4) In a few moments the program will start.

  124.   4.................  SETTING UP THE RESUME CREATOR TO WORK ON YOUR SYSTEM
  125.

  127.      It is important to setup the Resume Creator so that it will work with
  128.      your particular hardware. After loading the program, use the right
  129.      arrow key to move the highlight bar to the "SETUP" option on the menu.
  130.      Press <Enter>. Use the down arrow to move to the sub-option you wish
  131.      to select and press <Enter>. The first sub-option you should select is
  132.      DISK Drives.

  135.      DISK DRIVES
  136.  
  137.      This options tells the computer where your Resume Creator (program
  138.      files) are and where it will save and retrieve your resumes (data
  139.      files).
  140.  
  141.      If you have a computer with only floppy drives, you don't have to do
  142.      anything. The Resume Creator will automatically place your data files
  143.      in drive B and assumes your program files (the Resume Creator disk)
  144.      are in drive A. Make sure you have a blank formatted disk in your B>
  145.      drive for your data.
  146.  
  147.      If have two floppy drives but only your drive B> is 3.5, that's okay.
  148.      Resume Creator knows that its program files are in drive B>. It also
  149.      assumes that your data files will be saved on drive B>. Every time you
  150.      save or load a resume you will be asked to swap your data disk with
  151.      the program disk.

  153.      To avoid disk swapping you can use drive A> to store your data. To do
  154.      this you will have to type A for the data file disk drive in the disk
  155.      drive setup menu.  If you do not do this Resume Creator assumes that
  156.      both your data files, and program files, are in drive B and you will 
  157.      be asked to swap disks.

  159.      If you have a one floppy drive system, the Resume Creator will prompt
  160.      you to switch disks when you save or retrieve (load) your resumes.

  162.      If you have a Hard Drive and you have followed the install procedure,
  163.      the Resume Creator files are in a subdirectory called EASY. You will
  164.      also use the Hard Drive to store your work.  If you do not change any
  165.      settings the Resume Creator will automatically store your work  in the
  166.      root directory C:\. If you aren't sure what sub-directories are you
  167.      can skip the rest of this paragraph. You may, however, wish to store
  168.      your work in a separate sub-directory. If this is the case, you must
  169.      first make a directory and type the appropriate information in the
  170.      Data Files category in the disk drives menu. An example would be
  171.      C:\Easy\Resumes.

  226.      hit <F2> to accept what you have typed in or <Esc> to cancel. Next

  236.      for the program to take full advantage of your printer, it must know
